Maybe you don’t think you need a window cleaner. Perhaps you have been cleaning your own windows for years. But there are some things you should think about, when it comes to washing windows and hiring a window cleaner for your property.
IS THIS SAFE FOR ME TO TRY AND DO MYSELF?
Just because you can clean the windows, or have cleaned them in the past, doesn’t make it automatically safe for you to do so.
Window cleaners have the right equipment and ladders that are safe, or better still, don’t even need ladders. Can you say that too?
COULD MY TIME BE BETTER SPENT DOING SOMETHING ELSE?
Cleaning windows takes times. Especially for an amateur who hasn’t got all the equipment that they really need in order to do a good job!
It will probably take about half the time for a professional to do the job, than it does you.
COULD SOMEONE ELSE DO A BETTER JOB?
If you are using household cleaner to clean the windows with, there is every chance that a) this is far more abrasive than it really should be, especially for some types of window and b) you might leave a smudge or smear mark.
A professional will only use purified water, which brings the windows up sparkling every time. Can you really say the same?
COULD A WINDOW CLEANER DO MORE THAN CLEAN THE WINDOWS?
If you are thinking about finding a window cleaner, but are still not quite sure about it, then this might change your mind. More often than not a window cleaner will take on other odd jobs, so if you need something else doing around the place, for example reaching something down that you need from a great height, then ask. If they have a ladder, it is just as well to ask them if they can use it for you.
HAVE I MOVED EVERYTHING BREAKABLE FROM THE IMMEDIATE AREA?
This is for both the window cleaner’s safety as well as the safety of your breakable items, but before the window cleaner is on your property ensure you have moved everything breakable – or liable to cause an accident – away from the area.
COULD I INQUIRE ABOUT OTHER OUTDOOR JOBS?
If the company or person also does other outdoor jobs and you need the guttering clearing or a drain unblocking, then ask them how much they charge for the service.
